Zcash Open Development Lab (ZODL)

Zcash Open Development Lab (ZODL) is an independent organization focused on advancing Zcash adoption and improving the user experience of private digital cash.

Formed by the former Electric Coin Company team and led by former ECC CEO Josh Swihart, ZODL develops the flagship Zodl wallet while contributing to the continued evolution of the Zcash protocol.

In 2026, ZODL secured more than $25 million in funding from leading investors across crypto and frontier tech, reflecting strong conviction in Zcash's future.

ZODL’s mission is to make shielded ZEC more accessible and usable so people everywhere can transact freely, because there is no sovereignty without privacy.
